General Shortcuts

Start the list with the most common shortcuts that you’ll often use.

  2. ·         F2 [Rename the selected item]
  3. ·         F3 [Search for a file or folder]
  4. ·         F4 [Display the address bar list in File Explorer]
  5. ·         F5 [Refresh the active window]
  6. ·         F6 [Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop]
  7. ·         F10 [Activate the Menu bar in the active app]
  8. ·         ALT + F4 [Close the active item, or exit the active app]
  9. ·         ALT + ESC [Cycle through items in the order in which they were opened]
  10. ·         ALT + Underlined Letter in menus and dialog box options [Perform the command for that letter]
  11. ·         ALT + ENTER [Display properties for the selected item]
  12. ·         ALT + SPACEBAR [Open the shortcut menu for the active window]
